Noel wasn't completely sure how she felt about starting something when she knew the exact date it had to end. She figured that even if it was short-lived, she couldn't be disappointed; she knew when it was coming. Nothing could be a surprise. That was why she wasn't backing down. She didn't have to worry about anything because what was left? He was a good guy. She liked him. What more did she need? Hell, it was more than what she was expecting to get in the first place.

She arrived at the address he had given her, Apollo in tow as obedient as always and knocked on the door, carefully balancing two cups of coffee in one arm.

If you asked her later what those two girls were talking about and why, she wouldn't be able to tell you. Noel had been on her way out of work when she overheard a couple of her coworkers giggling and having fits over something they were playing on one of the computers. She would have kept walking, but one of the girls, Amber, was fond of Apollo and so she stopped to let her say hi.

When Noel asked what they were watching, there was a few quick comments about how they were catching up on their hero news, looking into what some of them have been up to and when they came across videos on youtube. They were all mostly just videos of shows of powers and strength and whatnot. Hawaii didn't really get a lot of superheroes of their own. They weren't very big, after all.

That wasn't what surprised her. No, it was the playback on the video and when the hero spoke, Noel seemed completely jarred. "Play that again..." she requested. The two girls did and there was no mistake. "Who is that?"

"Him? The Phoenix. It's a montage of some of his best moments caught on video," Jess giggled as she said it. Noel couldn't remember what it was like to be eighteen and giggly. God, what she'd give to just work reception some days.

Noel thanked them and bid them a good night. She made it home and showered and dressed again before she sat down on her couch, cell phone clutched in her hand. She didn't know how she was going to make this make sense or if she was going to sound crazy. "Dial Warren," she instructed to the voice menu. The phone rang. Part of her hoped he didn't answer.
